PSE&G Wins 2024 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence

Utility receives top honor for its commitment and leadership in energy efficiency for third year in a row

(NEWARK, N.J. – March 26, 2024) Today, Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G), New Jersey’s largest utility with 2.4 million electric customers and 1.9 million gas customers, has received the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence in the Energy Efficiency Program Delivery category from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy. This award is granted to states, utilities, regional energy efficiency nonprofit organizations, associations and other organizations for sponsoring energy efficiency programs to improve the efficiency of products, homes and buildings within their community or territory.

Each year, ENERGY STAR, a U.S. government program that provides information on the efficiency performance of products, honors utilities and businesses that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through superior energy achievements. The ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award is the highest honor among the ENERGY STAR Awards and is presented to partners that have already received the organization's Partner of the Year recognition for a minimum of two consecutive years, in addition to surpassing the necessary criteria to qualify for recognition. This marks the third consecutive year that PSE&G earns the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award.

“PSE&G is honored to once again be recognized by ENERGY STAR for our commitment to delivering the best energy-efficient solutions to our customers," said Karen Reif, vice president of Renewables and Energy Solutions at PSE&G. “This award underscores our ongoing commitment to providing New Jersey with sustainable energy solutions, driving us closer to a greener, more resilient future for our state.”

PSE&G offers residential customers several ways to purchase energy-efficient equipment at discounted prices, as part of a comprehensive residential energy efficiency portfolio. PSE&G also provides instant discounts on select ENERGY STAR appliances at the point of sale, either in-store at participating retailers or online through the PSE&G Marketplace. Collectively, PSE&G promotes ENERGY STAR certified appliances, HVAC equipment, smart thermostats and water heating equipment.

“President Biden’s Investing in America agenda creates unprecedented opportunity to build a clean energy economy, and private sector partners through programs like ENERGY STAR are leading the way,” said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan. “I congratulate this year’s ENERGY STAR award winners for their innovation and leadership, in delivering cost-effective energy efficient solutions that create jobs, address climate change and contribute to a healthier environment for all.”
