PSE&G is accelerating the modernization of its aging gas pipes in order to ensure the utility can continue to support a safer, cleaner and reliable gas system well into the future. Our Gas System Modernization Program and other upgrades mean higher pressure gas lines to customer homes, which enable use of high-efficiency gas appliances. This work also improves safety including removing aging leak-prone pipes, which helps remove methane from the environment, and adding more equipment like modern regulators.
As of September 2023, more than 1,700 miles of pipelines have been replaced.
