PSE&G is accelerating the modernization of its aging gas pipes in order to ensure the utility can continue to support a safe, clean and reliable gas system well into the future. As of January 2019, PSE&G launched the second phase of the Gas System Modernization Program (GSMPII). This program will invest about $1.9 billion over five years to continue the accelerated replacement of aging gas pipes – supporting a safe, clean and reliable gas system.
Under GSMP’s first phase, about 450 miles of aging infrastructure were replaced.
