PSE&G Clean Energy Jobs Program Earns Top National Recognition from ACEEE

(NEWARK, N.J. – November 6, 2024) – Announced on October 30, PSE&G’s sponsored Clean Energy Jobs (CEJ) Program has been awarded the Leaders of the Pack Award from the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) in the Workforce Development category.

The ACEEE honored top-performing utility-funded energy efficiency programs from across the United States with its Leaders of the Pack awards, selecting winners across 10 categories.  In particular, the Workforce Development category highlights programs that effectively equip workers with the skills needed for sustainable careers in clean energy.

"This recognition reflects the dedication of our entire team and the impact of our program on both participants and the clean energy sector," said Waltasia Mansano, manager, PSE&G Clean Energy Jobs Program. "By creating pathways to sustainable careers, we're not only changing people’s lives but also building a skilled workforce that will drive New Jersey's clean energy future. I'm incredibly proud of what we've accomplished and grateful for the commitment of everyone involved in making this program a success."

The Clean Energy Jobs Program has supported the placement of more than 2,600 individuals in clean energy jobs since its inception, helping to build a skilled workforce that supports both economic and environmental progress in New Jersey.

ACEEE's selection process involved reviewing nearly 100 nominations nationwide, evaluating programs on multiple criteria, including:

  • Ambitious long-term goals
  • Effective progress metrics
  • Strategic marketing to target audiences
  • Performance evaluation methods
  • Community engagement, particularly with historically underserved populations

“When we launched the Clean Energy Jobs Program, we set out to create an initiative that set a standard for workforce development and reflected New Jersey’s diversity,” said Susanna Chiu, senior director of Renewables and Energy Solutions at PSE&G. “We are proud to receive this recognition from the ACEEE, as it reflects the impact this program is making in bridging gaps and opening doors for the state’s residents to build meaningful careers in clean energy—and this is the kind of lasting impact we aimed for from the start.”

The Leaders of the Pack awards, previously presented in 2003, 2008, 2013 and 2018 have evolved to emphasize energy equity, electrification with comprehensive weatherization, and carbon emissions reduction.
