PSE&G Recycling Program Honored by NJDEP
(Newark, NJ – November 15, 2024) – PSE&G, New Jersey’s oldest and largest utility company, has been recognized as a 2024 Recycling Champion by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). This award, which PSE&G also received in 2020, highlights the company’s continued focus on sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
The NJDEP Recycling Champion Awards recognize organizations that demonstrate exemplary recycling efforts and contribute to New Jersey’s goals of increasing recycling rates across the state. PSE&G—the winner in the “business” category— was recognized for its comprehensive waste management program aimed at minimizing the volume of waste being landfilled by improving recycling practices and reducing overall waste levels.

This award reflects our dedication to sustainable business practices and making a positive impact in the communities we serve.”
PSE&G’s waste management goals and objectives focus on waste minimization, investment recovery, reuse, donation of useable items, and recycling. In 2023, PSE&G recycled approximately 595,000 tons of waste. Examples of recycled materials included: wetland timber mats, soil, water, scrap metal, and wood pallets.
