PSE&G Storm Update — Monday, Jan. 26, 8:00 AM
(Newark, NJ – January 26, 2026) – PSE&G is reporting the following preliminary figures as of 8:00 a.m. today:
- As of 8:00 a.m., PSE&G has restored power to 3,140 customers affected by the snow and frigid temperatures since Saturday at 3:00 p.m. As noted on our outage map, of our over 2million electric customers, 17 are out of power. This will be our last regular update on this winter storm.
- During the storm, PSE&G mobilized its workforce to support the restoration efforts, including line workers, gas utility workers, tree trimmers, surveyors, contractors and other field personnel. We are grateful to our dedicated employees who worked tirelessly throughout the weekend.
- Reminder to customers that our Customer Service Centers located around the state will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.For help with inquiries, customers can reach PSE&G via our mobile app, website, MyAccount, and the call center.
- Customers can find their estimated time of restoration on the PSE&G Outage map. All jobs will be restored safely and as quickly as possible.
- PSE&G is thankful to all who stayed off the roads and allowed municipal and state workers to plow and clean roads, which enabled PSE&G crews to safely reach and repair system incidents. New Jersey Governor Sherrill’s State of Emergency, declared on Saturday, January 24, 2026, helped ensure limited travel and enhanced public safety across all 21 counties during the hazardous conditions of the storm.
- PSE&G is also thankful to all who cleared sidewalks and driveways, making it safer for us to service homes and businesses with no heat.
- PSE&G recognizes that being without power for any length of time is a hardship, especially in frigid temperatures, and appreciates customers’ patience and understanding as crews worked to restore electric service.
- With the potential for record cold temperatures expected throughout the week, PSE&G will continue to work diligently for our customers and communities and in collaboration with state and regional officials.
Customer Safety:
- Downed wires should always be considered "live." Stay at least 30 feet away from downed wires, and don't go near the pole or anything touching the wire. Immediately contact PSE&G at 1-800-436-PSEG (7734), via our mobile app or on our website to report downed wires and dial 911 if an immediate hazard exists.
- Electric current passes easily through water. If you encounter a pool of standing water, stop, back up and choose another path.
- Never use a generator or any gasoline-powered engine inside your home, basement, or garage or less than 20 feet from any window, door or vent. Use an extension cord that is more than 20 feet long to keep the generator at a safe distance.
- If you smell a gas odor, immediately exit the building, move at least 350 feet away, call 911.
- When it snows, keep pipes, vents, and meters on the outside of your home clear of snow – otherwise, you may inadvertently allow carbon monoxide to build up in your home. Also, clear chimneys and vents of snow and ice accumulation for other gas appliances.
