Paul Toscarelli

Vice President, Electric Operations

Paul Toscarelli was elected vice president of electric operations for Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) in July 2024. He is responsible for all electric field operations, including safety and emergency preparedness.

Prior to his current role Mr. Toscarelli served as senior director of PSE&G’s Palisades Division, the most densely populated region of the company’s electric service territory. In that role, he oversaw various aspects of Electric Transmission and Distribution Operations including the regional distribution operations and dispatch center, restoration activities from storms and other emergencies, overhead and underground construction and maintenance as well as field engineering activities. 

Prior, Mr. Toscarelli served as senior director of electric operations and operations support at PSE&G. He oversaw various areas of electric transmission and distribution operations, including emergency preparedness, storm readiness, electric operations reliability and performance reporting, outage management, safety, vegetation management and other various operations support functions. 

Mr. Toscarelli has held several leadership roles in PSE&G, including in Distribution Operations, Engineering, Substation Maintenance, as well as serving as program lead for a mass advanced technology relay and SCADA upgrade. He is overseeing the current initiative to implement a new Outage Management System, integrated with an Advanced Distribution Modeling System platform. He has over 25 years of experience in a diverse range of leadership, technical and financial fields.

Mr. Toscarelli holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering, as well as a Master of Science in engineering management, both from New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark College of Engineering. He is a licensed professional engineer in New Jersey, as well as a certified energy manager.
