Solar Power and Net Metering - PSE&G
Most solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in New Jersey are connected to the local utility’s electric system. This connection provides two benefits:
First, there will be times when you’ll need power from the electric system, like on a cloudy day or when there’s snow covering your solar panels.
Second, at times when your PV system is generating more power than you need, the excess power flows into the electric system and earns you “energy credits” that will reduce future bills.
This works through a process called “net metering.”

PSE&G Reaches Agreement to Lower Transmission Rates; Will File Agreement With FERC; Electric Customers to Save Approximately $140 Million a Year
PSE&G executed an agreement today with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and New Jersey Division of Rate Counsel related to its transmission rates that would save the typical electric residential customer about 3% on their bill, or approximately $3 per month. If approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the agreement would reset the base return on equity for PSE&G’s transmission formula rate at 9.9%, reduced from 11.18%.

PSE&G is prepared for the high winds, heavy rain and light snow forecast to begin after midnight through Sunday morning, particularly in northern areas of New Jersey. Sustained winds of 30 to 35 mph are expected with possible gusts up to 50 mph. These conditions may cause tree limbs to break and pull down wires, causing outages.

The Public Service Corporation was formed in 1903, by amalgamating more than 400 gas, electric and transportation companies in New Jersey. Thomas McCarter was named the Corporation's first president and held the position until 1939. Internally, Public Service consolidated its gas and electric interests into Public Service Electric and Gas, and its transportation interests into Public Service Coordinated Transport (later Transport of New Jersey). Concerns about the concentration of economic power resulted in federal and state actions requiring the breakup of utilities. In 1943, Public Service once again became a stand-alone company, and was renamed Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) in 1948.

PSEG Increases Common Stock Dividend
The Board of Directors of Public Service Enterprise Group (NYSE:PEG) today declared a quarterly common stock dividend for the first quarter of 2022 of $0.54 per share payable on March 31, 2022 to shareholders of record on March 10, 2022.
